Web handling rolle #4 of 4

(4) Sleeve to avoid magnet drop
Rotation driving units embed small magnets along the roll surface.
These magnets sometimes pop out due to centrifugal force caused by fast rotation.  This is solved by inserting our thin seamless sleeve by air.  Our metal seamless sleeves are tough and thin, 0.1mm and less, which covers magnets under any electrical properties.

Web handling rolls #3 of 4 : Pattern-transcription sleeve

The third handling roll is a patterned mold roll.
This is to form minute patterns on plastic film and sheet surface.
Cylindrical thin-wall sleeve has patterns on its surface and
This sleeve is set onto the core air madrell.
As this roll continuously rotates, patterning is available on the roll to roll basis. This improves production efficiency over the process on sheet-to sheet basis.

Web handling rolls #2 of 4

The second roll is 'a low-inertia roll.' 
This roll is different from conventional rolls, 
for it does not rotate itself,
rather the surface thin-wall sleeve only rotates.

This mechanism is that air splashes out from small holes over the roll core and expands diameter of the surface thin-wall sleeve. 
When a film goes through this roll, the surface thin-wall sleeves rotates along with speed of the film. 
This is why inertial of this roll is just twentieth and less of the conventional rolls.

In general to gain lower inertia, small-diameter rolls are used for production  of thin and wide films.  However, this small and long rolls inevitably bow when they receive loads.  Here our low-inertia rolls maintain straightness and low-inertia state due to the  above structure.

Web handling rolls #1 of 4

We have delvelped several types of metal rolls in the area of web handling  through discussions with customers.
They are classified in to 4 product categories. 
 
1. Air roll
2. Low-inertia roll
3. Fine patterned roll
4. Sleeves to hold magnetic parts insdie the forming roll

Today we talk about the first product category, Air roll.

Air roll is composed of a shaft, air, and the outer thin-wall metal sleeve.
Air is supplied from the outside and stays between a shaft and the outer meta sleeve.  This air supports the outer metal sleeve.  When this air roll is pushed by the other roll to form plastic, the metal sleeve surface yields and goes back to a flat state when it is not pushed.  This can happen because the outer metal sleeve is very thin and its tensile strength stands againt this pressure.  So this metalsleeve is flexible and provides nipping like rubber roll.  WHen this air roll is introduced, cooling and heating conditions are changed, which improves the entire forming conditions including rolling and strretching.

The producible range of the outer metal sleeve is form 19.8 to 260mm in diameter.

Stainless steel belt food conveyor

Here in Japan our food conveyor is evaluated in hygiene environment.
Belt and conveyor frame are all made by stainless steel.
This is employed in
・meat processing
・transportation of processed food such as frozen rice, meat balls, and cut vegetables
・production of sweets like chocolate, candies, cubic sugar, and popsicle

If our conveyor is introduced in your factory,
・washing is quite easy. Labor and water will be decreased remarkably.

・bacteria do not sneak into the belt.  They do not grow in or on the belt.

Dymco exhibits Convertech JAPAN 2015

Convertech JAPAN 2015

Exhibition of  "converting technology," a processing field comprised of three major pillars: Coating, Laminating, and Slitting.

Stainless Steel Belt Conveyor : Heating of powder

Powder material is often heated so that it will gain a new function,
another property.
Normally heating belt moves slow, maintaining right track by tracking mechanism. 
 Heat resistive metal belt and tracking mechanism are essential.
When temperature goes beyond 200 degrees C, 
we have any other choice but stainless steel belt.

Stainless Steel Belt Systems - Laboratory 1 of 2

When you are thinking to use stainless steel belts,
sometimes aren't you sure if it really works well?
We recommend to try in our stainless steel conveyors in the first place.
Many of our customers bring their own material
and watch if expected process and transportation could be done
on a stainless steel conveyor.
 
Common question is like,
'Our parts may be thick for suction conveyance. 
Suction will work on our parts? 
Then we can locate parts on the belt.'
We ask such people to bring parts to our lab and parts are really on the suction conveyor. 
We watch them and our customer learn if it works and what is the next  step.

Stainless Steel Perforated Suction Belt Conveyor

Here are tips for multifunction conveyor.
Due to suction, effective on belt surface and its back,
material is conveyed on both belt surface and back.
For instance injet printing is done on paper or plastic films on the belt surface and when they go to the back, their image is cheched by inspection camera.

Stainless steel belt and solar modules

In Japan large solar power plants have been made here and there.
Its safety is evaluated.

It is interesting to know that stainless steel belts are used in many process of solar module manufacturing.

First is band saw. This steel belt is a knife to cut long silicon ingot into several pieces.  Belt is set in the cutter and rotates in high speed to cut silicon.  These silicon pieces are set in wiresaw cutting machines and becomes silicon slices.

These slices are made silicon wafer and wafers are combined together in a stringer.  Here wafers are connected with each other by automatic soldering of inter-connectors.  This stringer process is done on steel belts that are flat and tough in heat environment.

Stainless Steel Belt, Flat Suction Belt

In suction belts belt surface flatness is vitally important.
If there are waves, suction becomes weak and belt surface is not flat.
In other words, the same vacuum does not bring the expected flatness.

Waves are often found along the welding line.
But we add process on material before welding so that the best condition for butt welding is prepared.

Stainless Steel Belt Suction Conveyor at The Imaging Soceity Japan

Dymco made a speech on our stainless steel suction conveyor and its flat belt surface at the annual meeting of Imaging Conference JAPAN 2014.

Stainless steel belt surface height ranges 150 microns under free-suction state, while it ranges 50 microns under suction.

Perforated Stainless Steel Belt Conveyor for Simultaneous Inspection

You need to check film conditions on one spot on both its surface and back.
What do you do?
Here is our solution.
 
Inspection is possible if there is clearance between the two suction conveyors.  Suction belts hold film, while cameras above and below this clearance catch surface and back of this film.

TECHNICAL SHOW YOKOHAMA 2014

DYMCO, LTD. exhibited 2 steel belt systems
at Technical Show Yokohama Feb. 05-07.
Here is illustration.


One is a card-size suction conveyor.
Belt width 100mm and c-c 506mm.

Cards are placed flat due to suction.
Inspection by cameras and laser devices is available on this sysytem.

The other is double press belt system.
It is like vertical combination of 2 conveyors.
Belt with 150mm, c-c 500mm 
The upper belt and the lower belt catch material 
and give temperature 200 degrees max and 
pressure 200 kgf.
