March 29, 2017 Precise Intermittent Transmission by Stainless Steel Belt Takt Conveyor

Takt conveyor is comprised of sprocket pulley, perforated stainless belt and servo motor.Neltal belt and its perforation, hole diameter and hole pitch are precise.  They realize transmission tolerance of 50 μm normally.

It is also possible to add attachment on belt holes so that parts are held in attachments for certain process and inspection.

March 22, 2017 Automatic Metal Belt Tracking

Our metal belt is flat and straight.
We also make it run straight by Edge Positioning Control system.

Sensors acknowkedge belt width edges.  Its signal triggers an electric actuator or air cylinder and the position of the driven pelly axis is adjusted.

March 15, 2017 Suction Transport--- Process of both sides of material

The conveyor belt normally carries material on its surface.
The a set of 2 suction conveyors sucks backside of the material and later surface of the material like the animation  below.   Orange substance is material carried.

 
 

This is realized in this setting.

Mar. 8, 2017 Metal belt life and S-N curve

Now let us continue to talk about belt life.
Our belts and sleeves are made from metal. 
Metal experiences 'metal fatigue.' This fatigue strength is described by 'S-N curve = stress-number of bendings' as below.

 
Fatigue strength is determined by bending stress, tensile stress and crown radius of pulleys.
And in case of a welded belt, toughness around the welded area determines belt life.
Dymco strictly control this welding process to keep high belt quality.

Furthermore we have developed combination of heat treatment and rolling technology in ring-rolled belts and thin-wall sleeves.  The original welded line in these products show almost same level of hardness and tensile strength as the parent material.

Metal lives long when stress becomes less.
What about humans?  We have to stand work as well as mental stress.

2017. Mar. 1st- Life test of metal belts

I want to be strong and tough.  How about you?

When it comes to steel belt, there is a life factor in belt properties.
Japan industrial standards stipulates hardness and tensile strength of each steel grade, but we do not know how long one belt continues to rotate in small pulleys or large pulleys.
So Dymco examines it  in our lab to know for sure how long one belt works.  It takes dyas, so everyday some belt is under life test day and night in our lab.

One stainless steel belt is expected to go beyond bendings of 10 million times.  Belts in a picture below are after 10 million bendings.  We do not find cracks or damages at all.

 
We continue this life test to get to know for sure life of belts.
